“I am so fortunate to have had my hip replacement surgery performed by Mr Vipin Asopa.”
I booked an appointment with my orthopaedic surgeon, Mr Vipin Asopa, as my hip was very painful and it was aggravating my left leg. My hip was causing my knee to twist. I was able to continue swimming, but cycling had become more difficult.
At my first consultation with Mr Asopa we talked everything through and I knew immediately it was the right decision to have a hip replacement. Mr Asopa made me feel immediately at ease. He made decisions well and was very professional.
I had a left hip replacement in late October. Having been able to choose my surgery date, I decided to wait until October to have the surgery. On the day of my operation I arrived at the hospital in the morning and I went into surgery at 9am. The surgery went very well and there were no complications.
The hospital was fantastic and I had a great anaesthetist.
After surgery I was taken back to the room and all had gone well. Vipin was happy with how the surgery went.
Mr Asopa was then pleased with how I was recovering and at 7pm that evening I was able to go home. I really feel that the whole process couldn’t have gone better.
I was given some exercises to do after my surgery by the physiotherapist. Throughout the weeks after surgery I kept on with the exercises regularly.
I am so pleased to say I had no serious pain. By the end of the first week of my recovery I was mobile and down to just using one crutch.
The following week I was able to do 10 minute walks. I was able to stop my painkillers after two and a half weeks.
I had my follow up appointment with Mr Asopa and he was amazed with my progress. By this point I was no longer using crutches. I had a very slight limp at this stage but that was all.
5 weeks after surgery and I was back to the pool and feeling confident to start swimming again. I was able to ride my push bike too.
I continued to make the physiotherapy exercises my priority. The limp had completely gone. My leg was slightly swollen, but I didn’t have any pain. Within six weeks I was ready to return to work and my normal routine.
I really can’t praise Mr Asopa enough. Thanks to the fantastic surgery he performed, my hip is now healed and my leg is completely straight. Mr Asopa is up-front and professional. I keep telling other people how fantastic he is – I really can’t compliment him highly enough.
My hip is feeling great. I thought I would be in more pain than I was, but thankfully there is now no pain on the wound. The swelling has completely gone and I just have a scar that is 4 inches long. There is no scar at the back and no screws were needed. I am so fortunate to have had my hip replacement surgery performed by Mr Vipin Asopa. Thank you.
