WHAT TO EXPECT ONCE THE DATE OF YOUR SURGERY HAS BEEN CONFIRMED

Prior to admission you will undergo a pre-assessment health screen. Certain tests or further information may be required before you have your surgery.

On some occasions, ‘pre-rehabilitation’ or physiotherapy before surgery is recommended to strengthen muscles and improve range of motion. This could help early recovery and improved outcomes following surgery.

You will arrive at the hospital on the day of surgery at the time that has been confirmed. You can find the address of your hospital here.

You should not eat anything from 6 hours before surgery. You can drink clear fluid until 4 hours before surgery.
