PATIENT TESTIMONIALS
“At my initial consultation, Mr Asopa was very easy to speak to, put me completely at ease and it was a relief to hear that my symptoms were something he could help me with.”
The surgery has definitely helped with all my symptoms, I now have no pain in my knee at all and the only pain around my hip is at the site of the incision and the muscles around it. I know I have a little way to go with my recovery, but it is life changing to be relieved of the constant pain and stiffness and I am so grateful to Mr Asopa for everything he has done.
I would definitely recommend Mr Asopa to anyone who requires hip replacement surgery, I honestly can’t imagine that I could have received better treatment.

“By week 10, my stride was completely normal; I was walking like I was in my twenties again! I was going out for long, brisk walks and enjoying them very much. I couldn’t believe the difference from before my hip replacement.”
I am doing so much more in general now. The gardening that I simply wasn’t able to do before my surgery is possible again now. I was on a step ladder pruning a tree for three hours and felt absolutely fine doing so.
Mr Asopa’s positive attitude is infectious. I really feel that it helps you recover quickly. The whole experience has exceeded my expectations; it was a very positive experience.
The surgery has reversed my age. I have gone from being disabled to being able-bodied and doing the things I enjoy again.

“I would recommend Mr Asopa without hesitation, for orchestrating such a successful outcome, which has greatly enriched my life in retirement.”
Before my total hip replacement, I was having increasing discomfort and pain in my left hip when walking. I was unable to play tennis or badminton, which I had previously played 2 or 3 times a week all year round.
I made the decision to have surgery because I felt that if I did not deal with my condition, I would lose my general fitness. My health insurance provider gave me the names of several specialists. I Googled them and chose Mr Asopa, mainly because of his interest in sports injuries.

“I am so fortunate to have had my hip replacement surgery performed by Mr Vipin Asopa.”
I really can’t praise Mr Asopa enough. Thanks to the fantastic surgery he performed, my hip is now healed and my leg is completely straight. Mr Asopa is up-front and professional. I keep telling other people how fantastic he is – I really can’t compliment him highly enough.
My hip is feeling great. I thought I would be in more pain than I was, but thankfully there is now no pain on the wound. The swelling has completely gone and I just have a scar that is 4 inches long. There is no scar at the back and no screws were needed. I am so fortunate to have had my hip replacement surgery performed by Mr Vipin Asopa. Thank you.

“At all points along my journey, Mr Asopa treated me with kindness and care.”
This is a case study about Mr Asopa, who performed joint replacement surgery on my Arthritic hip. I went to see Mr Asopa about my hip as it was getting almost impossible to walk. At all points along my journey, Mr Asopa treated me with kindness and care. He is clearly a surgeon in demand, but I didn’t once feel as though I wasn’t important. His contact extended well after the operation itself and he frequently enquired as to how the recuperation was going. He is professional, but has not lost the ability to really connect with his patients.

“I would without doubt recommend Mr Asopa. Due to his skill and experience I was able to have my life back.”
I went to Mr Asopa last year when I needed surgery on my right knee. Mr Asopa was fantastic throughout the entire process; he went to great lengths to explain any questions I had around the surgery and what to expect in the days and weeks that followed. He performed ACL reconstruction surgery using my hamstring graft.
From the initial appointment, Mr Asopa put my mind to ease; from his experience and knowledge I felt reassured that I’d make a full recovery.
Coming from an active and sport-based background, I was concerned I wouldn’t be able to return to my active lifestyle. Thanks to Mr Asopa’s fantastic work I was able to make a full recovery. I was back running after 3 months, and I was able to compete in triathlons again after 8 months. Amazingly I had no issues with my knee during my triathlon training, and no issues during the competition itself. It’s like it never happened!
I had the same surgery elsewhere on my left knee a couple of years ago. Thanks to Mr Asopa’s work, my knee healed much faster and without any of the complications I had first time around. It even feels stronger than it did before.
I would without doubt recommend Mr Asopa. Due to his skill and experience I was able to have my life back.

“The difference my surgery has made to my life feels like a miracle.”
I have so much gratitude for Mr Vipin Asopa for the outstanding care and the exceptional job he did performing my total knee replacement surgery in January. What he is able to do is humbling. The difference my surgery has made to my life feels like a miracle.
During the years before having the surgery, my left leg had started to deteriorate. I was in a lot of pain and my leg had become distorted. I was unable to stand up straight anymore and I could hardly walk. Prior to the operation, when walking, I felt like I was being pulled down – a very strange and uncomfortable sensation. It was like two strong bands, one on each shoulder applying pressure downwards.
It was limiting my quality of life and I knew something needed to be done so I booked an appointment to see Mr Vipin Asopa. As soon as I spoke to him at my first appointment, I knew it was possible for my leg to be fixed. He explained everything thoroughly and listened to my questions and concerns. He is calm, sympathetic, reassuring and genuinely caring.
My surgery went extremely well, exceeding all my expectations. My leg is no longer distorted, and I am visibly taller; people comment on the noticeable difference this has made. I look and feel younger again. I can walk with no pain at all, and I have a spring in my step. I have a new lease of life, it’s amazing.
I feel extremely lucky, and I wholeheartedly recommend Mr Vipin Asopa to anyone considering knee replacement surgery.

“I am now able to play rugby without any knee pain at all.”
My ACL reconstruction surgery with Mr Vipin Asopa was straightforward and stress-free throughout the whole process. I had an injury which had stopped me from playing rugby, and it had become difficult to walk or run. I went to see a consultant who recommended I see Mr Asopa. I am extremely pleased that Mr Asopa was my surgeon. What stood out to me most about Mr Asopa was how he explained everything clearly and simply, so I felt reassured throughout the whole process. He showed me my scans and talked me through the operation and what to expect after surgery.
I had my ACL surgery at The Kings Oak Hospital in London. Mr Asopa and the team were helpful, professional, and welcoming – they immediately put me at ease. The surgery went well, and it was quicker and easier than I had expected.
Remarkably, the recovery time that Mr Asopa had anticipated was spot on. 9 months after my surgery I was able to return to training, and I am pleased to say that I am now able to play rugby without any knee pain at all.

"I am very happy with how the surgery went on the day."
I would like to express my thanks to Mr Asopa after my left knee replacement surgery. Mr Asopa is a very approachable and professional man who communicated everything to me very well, explaining what needed to be done and what will happen clearly.
Prior to surgery, my worries were that the operation may not go as well as expected and that I will be in a lot of pain. I am very happy with how the surgery went on the day. Mr Asopa made sure to speak to me after I woke up from the anaesthetic, and he came to see me the morning after the operation to check I was OK. I was impressed with the nurse care and the facilities of the hospital.
The care after surgery was very good, Mr Asopa made himself available for any worries or issues I had, I felt supported and well looked after throughout.
I would be very happy to recommend Mr Asopa; my husband came with me to the follow up appointment and he was also very impressed with him. Mr Asopa is a thorough man who clearly knows his trade. He has a very good bedside manner and a caring approach.

“It was terrific service from Mr Asopa and the team at the Chiswick Medical Centre.”
I saw Mr Asopa last year as I had injured my knee playing tennis. He was able to give me an X-ray and an MRI very quickly, which meant that I had my diagnosis (ruptured ACL) in less than a week. It was terrific service from Mr Asopa and the team at the Chiswick Medical Centre.
He suggested that I see a physical therapist in the first instance, and to do some research before I committed to reconstruction and then rehabilitation of the knee. I was very impressed by that – throughout the process Mr Asopa respected the expertise of physical therapists in my treatment and decision making. He gave me very balanced advice on the benefits and drawbacks of surgery, which gave me confidence in him.
I had the surgery at London Bridge Hospital. The surgery – and recovery from the surgery – went precisely as Mr Asopa had predicted. It has now been nine months, and I am almost back to playing tennis at my full ability, which is exactly the time frame Mr Asopa had suggested.
My husband is seeing him now for HIS knee, which is a high recommendation indeed.

"Just three months after my operation I visited Niagara Falls, walking 10,000 steps a day!"
I would like to express my gratitude to my orthopaedic surgeon, Mr Vipin Asopa, who performed my recent hip surgery. I have had arthritis since I was in my 40s in both hips, and I found in recent years that one hip was getting particularly bad. It was affecting my ability to walk around easily, and it was making me tired, and generally affecting my quality of life.
After deciding I wanted to undergo surgery, I researched hip surgeons, and I was sure Mr Asopa was the right person to go with. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, it was important that I found a surgeon who would be able to minimise the chances of blood loss. At my consultation, Mr Asopa listened to the requests I had for my surgery, and he explained in detail how he could help, which gave me further confidence that he would do a great job. He talked me through everything I needed to know in an instructive and clear way. He showed me how my hip was on the x-rays, explained the risks and gave me time to decide what I wanted to do.
I am so grateful to Mr Asopa that several months on from my surgery, I am now able to go on walking trips again and walk around with minimal pain. Just three months after my operation I visited Niagara Falls, walking 10,000 steps a day!
Mr Asopa, the anaesthetist and the rest of the team at London Bridge Hospital were extremely helpful and professional. I am very appreciative to Mr Asopa that I have got my quality of life back after my operation. I highly recommend him.

“Vipin is very easy to talk to, he takes the time to explain the procedure and does a great job”
I recently had a customised total knee replacement on my left knee, performed by Mr Vipin Asopa. I have a dog which needs walking and I like country walks. I also do a lot of DIY. Before my surgery, all of these activities were being restricted as I found walking and general moving about was becoming more and more painful.
The surgery went well. I was told what to expect and had plenty of opportunity to ask questions. I was surprised by how much mobility I had, even the day after the operation. Of course, I could only walk and stand for a few minutes to start with but I was largely independent about the house.
I was so pleased that after 6 months I could do most things, although my country walks were restricted to about 2km. And now after 12 months I can kneel in the garden doing the weeding and I go on 5km walks with no pain, and this is still improving.
Mr Asopa was very approachable. I felt comfortable talking to him and I was never rushed, either before or after surgery. My other knee is now the weak link so I am considering surgery on this knee as well and I will be asking for Mr Asopa when the time comes.

“9 months after the surgery I completed back-to-back 100-mile rides and the Tour of Flanders with no knee pain at all!”
I had severe knee pain and after about 8 weeks of physio and other treatment with no results, an MRI scan showed an ossicle lodged in my patella tendon causing inflammation.
My surgeon, Mr Asopa, was very calm, clear and explained that surgery was the final option, but since the MRI showed what the problem was, the surgery wasn’t exploratory – it was clear what the issue was and he was confident he would be able to sort it, albeit with the risks that surgery entails. Mr Asopa removed the ossicle and conducted an arthroscopy.
The surgery was straightforward, the wound was tidy, clean and healed very quickly. I continued my recovery with Marco Bevellino of Q Sports Physio (highly recommended) and was back on my bike, gently, after 6-8 weeks.
I’m a very keen cyclist and after about 10 weeks I was riding again (although lacking some fitness) and continued to build strength over the following months. 9 months after the surgery I completed back-to-back 100-mile rides and the Tour of Flanders with no knee pain at all! I can categorically say the surgery was a success.

“My Hip Replacement”
My father had had a hip replacement around 1980, and I had known since I was 40 that I had arthritis in my hip joints, but it wasn’t until 18 months ago on a walking holiday that I noticed some pain in my left hip. I was at that time 73 years old and enjoying my retirement playing tennis and badminton several times a week and I wanted to be able to keep this up for some years yet. I selected Vipin Asopa as my surgeon. The process of getting authorisation from the insurers and liaising with numerous different services for all aspects of the treatment process was a bit confusing, so I was extremely grateful for the help I was able to get from Vipin’s Secretary.
I had an initial consultation with Vipin, where he explained the significance of the problem, and the approach he would propose to adopt. Following X rays and a scan we agreed that the surgery should proceed as soon as possible. This would be preceded by a few weeks of Physiotherapy to build up my fitness and thus attenuate the deterioration in fitness which would inevitably follow the surgery. Vipin advised me to have an “off the shelf” joint based on my precise measurements, since this would be a better fit than a standard replacement.
Vipin recommended a Sports Physio (Marco Bevellino of “Q Sports Physio” in Kew), who supported me throughout a period of around 18 months, before and after surgery. I cannot over-emphasise how beneficial the physio was in terms of recovery and my general fitness. Marco was able to provide Vipin with regular feedback on my progress.
The surgery, which took place in March 2022 in the London Bridge Hospital, was very straightforward. I opted for the recommended general anaesthetic, and I was in hospital for only 2 days. I was able to walk with crutches on day 2 and walk unaided (but carefully at first) at home from day 3 (stairs took a bit longer). The scar from the operation healed quickly and one year later was not very noticeable. Although I went into surgery at a fairly high level of fitness, it was necessary for me to walk and exercise a lot during a period of 3 months before I felt confident on my feet, and it was not until 7 months had gone by that I felt able to attempt playing tennis or badminton.
Throughout I found the Surgeon, his Secretarial Support, and the Physiotherapy service all extremely professional, straightforward and in fact a pleasure to deal with. Vipin was personable, attentive and keen to explain in detail what the surgery involved and would be like. He went on to take a keen interest in my progress following the procedure. I would strongly recommend him.

“Hip Replacement Operation”
I am writing to express my sincere thanks to you and your team. This is for agreeing to fit me in for the operation, after a quite short wait; this was very timely as it turned out, given the Covid19 focus.
And for a perfect result. My friends are astonished at how well I have recovered: particular those who have had joint replacements done themselves and have taken a year or more to recover completely and fully do away with sticks. I, on the otherhand, have been able to cycle and to walk 10 miles or so for a couple of months now, without any assistance.
I should add that I did the physiotherapy exercises religiously, both before and afterwards, so I appreciate the need as well as the benefit.
Thank you so much, this has made an enormous difference to my life.

“I couldn’t recommend anyone more highly”
Vipin Asopa performed hip surgery on me in December 2019. It all came as quite a shock to hear that I had broken my hip at such a young age, but Vipin instantly put me at ease and instilled a confidence in me that he would do everything he could to repair the fracture and avoid a hip replacement. From our first consultation to the lead up to the operation, to the after care and all the consultations that followed, he was always extremely thorough, very relatable and made a point of checking in on my progress (this was especially reassuring in the few weeks after the surgery). I couldn’t recommend anyone more highly and I am forever grateful to Vipin for all his hard work, dedication and expertise.

“New Lease of Life after Knee Replacement Surgery”
For many years I suffered from osteoarthritis in my right knee. I was fairly young at onset (47 years old) but I learnt to live with it, as many people do, and over time as it worsened, I tried to manage it with medication, which worked for a while. However, 10 years later my quality of life had diminished to the point where I knew I would need some serious intervention. My lower leg had started to bend outwards as my knee slowly collapsed inwards and scans revealed the full extent of damage to my joint. A total knee replacement was the only answer and it was then that I was introduced to my surgeon, Mr Asopa. From the start, the quality of care that I received was second to none. Mr Asopa helped to answer my questions regarding the operation and post-op rehabilitation and I really appreciated his honesty and attention to detail, which helped to alleviate my pre-op fears. The operation itself was a great success and I was sent home after 4 days in hospital. Mr Asopa continued to provide wonderful support and was on hand when I had worries about my recovery and put me at ease that I was on the right track and had to work at my own pace. Everyone will recover differently but the most important thing is to follow the medical advice and post-op physio. The more you put in the more you will see a benefit.
I am 15 months post op now and am delighted with the results. I can walk long distances pain free, use my exercise bike regularly without pain or stiffness, occasionally dance and no longer have to worry about how I am going to get from A to B. My leg is 100% straight again and the scar on my knee is very neat. I am not going to say that this journey has been easy, especially in the first few months post op, but the end result is fantastic. I will forever be grateful to Mr Asopa for helping me get my life back on track and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone. My only advice would be don’t leave it as long as I did. Thank you for everything Mr Asopa.

“for the first time in many years he saw me as a person and not just a hospital number.”
I first saw Mr. Vipin Asopa on … February 2020. He came out to where I was waiting and called me in and gave me a friendly smile and warm handshake. When I sat down and we started to discuss my problem I was immediately impressed that for the first time in many years he saw me as a person and not just a hospital number. After we had talked for a while he said that he wanted to examine me to find out exactly where the pain is and the severity. This was the very first time I had been examined with regards to my problem. He then sent me immediately for an X-ray and I went straight back to him for the results….

“I felt safe and confident that the operation would be a success.”
I should like to take the opportunity to say how pleased I am with the outcome of my hip replacement operation on … February at …. hospital. When I came for my initial consultation I was pleased to know that you would be performing the operation yourself and I felt safe and confident that the operation would be a success. After a long day in theatres I really appreciated you stopping by to see me before going home to check on my progress and make sure I was up and walking on the day of my operation. My wound was neat and comfortable, healed quickly and I was grateful for the dissolvable stitches. My mobility was limited before surgery due to the painful hip but now that my limp is cured I intend to make good use of my new freedom by resuming table tennis, rejoining my WI walking group and playing football with my grandsons. Thank you again, I know I was extremely fortunate to have been under your care….

“I could not recommend him highly enough”
In December 2019 we were in London visiting our daughter and granddaughters (we live in Peru). During the first week of our visit, I tripped on the sidewalk and broke an ankle and the opposite knee cap. We rushed to the emergency of London Bridge Hospital where they had to find me a consultant to check me into hospital. It was days before Christmas, consultants were away on holiday. Fortunately, it was Mr. Vipin Asopa who answered the call. He was incredibly patient and reassuring during anxious times. I really appreciated his conservative approach of not rushing me into the operating theatre. At 70, with serious back problems and away from home, this was a relief. I stayed for nine days at the London Bridge Hospital and the attention I got from him and the hospital could not have been better. Mr. Asopa checked me daily and worked with the team of nurses and physiotherapists to provide the best possible care. I saw him as an outpatient before flying back and he was again wonderful. He has a great bedside manner and I always felt I was given his time and full attention. I could not recommend him highly enough.
